It has been a goal of mine as I have worked over the last few months to work with a "less is more" composition and using more neutrals. This piece is a very good example of that, but still shows my love for color. So, try as I might I can't seem to get to far away from it!

We had the opportunity to visit Orange Beach, Alabama this summer where the inspiration for this painting came from. It's interesting to see how the first painting after a trip has been influenced by that area of the country we were in.  Here are a few more and their locations, Equa from St. Petes, Florida and Sunup from Santa Fe, New Mexico.   What do you think?!

Listening to music and painting. As you can imagine from my paintings I'm pretty much moving as I paint.  Joyfully dancing!  There is a translation from what I feel and hear to color, shapes, lines and of course movement.  Maybe it's like be a conductor of sorts?.... orchestrating who plays what and when, bringing the whole into harmony. Enjoy!!
